Mercedes W12

A place to discuss the characteristics of the cars in Formula One, both current as well as historical. Laptimes, driver worshipping and team chatter do not belong here.

Very weird bodywork shape in the rear-end. Hopefully they have good lighting when they reveal the actual car to judge it better.

They've further tightened the sidepods it looks like.

Is it me or the car has more rake than last year's?

Those sidepod deflectors look a bit different than before, right, seem more bluff and shaped rather than flat.

Is it just me, or have they covered the floor to ensure camera doesn't catch the details?

Self-edit: Yep, Allison confirmed it on live.

Sort of good they are forthright about that, and fun to know there's something there to look for in testing; though I now wonder whether they have a more important bit somewhere else so now they got their competition look at their floor for the first few days of testing as a diversion? ;)
