Renault R30

A place to discuss the characteristics of the cars in Formula One, both current as well as historical. Laptimes, driver worshipping and team chatter do not belong here.

No, look at the side pod and the mirrors. The nose appears to be the same, just creases in the covering give the impresion it's like the toyota.

I could be wrong still, but i don't think the R30 would have such a low nose.
For Sure!!

Look where the front suspension, the chasis looks quite high there

Hold your horses!

Yellow car is last year's R29. There was a photoshop contest at Confidential-Renault.fr site about the new livery, the car is from there if I'm not mistaken. Anyway, its just fan's idea about how new livery might look like.

We were commenting on the thing under the cover
I am guessing it's the R29, similar to how Mclaren used the Mp4 24, in shadow , as a teaser to the new car.
For Sure!!

That thing under the cover doesn't look anything like the R29 to me. I bet it's the R30. The nose is much thinner and shorter, and it's higher between the wheels, possibly with a short V-section in the area where the suspension components are fitted. I also see sidepod panels, which I believe the R29 never featured. The sidepods also look lower than on the R29.

the R30 was fired up on wednesday so it is very likely the car under the covers is that car, not the R29.

Re: Renault R30

the car under the cover seems to be the R30 itself as it can be differentiated by the nose shape, much more like last year's Toyota

I just saw this at Confidential Renault and remembered that it looks just like the pic above that bar555 two months ago. :)

Submitted Sunday, the new liook of the Renault F1 R30 is revealed through exclusive photos from the new website of the French team. We particularly see a small yellow and black R29, which appears to be delivered in 2010 livery.

A real homecoming for Renault, which returns to its original colors, dating from the Turbo. Note the presence of red on the ends of the front and rear wings.

This sketch of the R30 seems to fit nicely with the shape of the car under the black cover...
Theres probably a lot of accuracy in the sketch.
