Williams FW32 Cosworth

A place to discuss the characteristics of the cars in Formula One, both current as well as historical. Laptimes, driver worshipping and team chatter do not belong here.

That seems to be the biggest cooling hole since Red Bull realeased theirs. Virgin are getting bigger with theirs.

That Williams aero department is really pulling together, the FW32 is looking like a really nice car now. Fast, sleek, and could be well placed for a good finish!!!

The FW31 was looking good towards the end of last year too. And they scrapped it and made the FW32 completely new. As will be the FW33

From Rubens' comments it appears that he will be making sure the FW33 has a lot more driveability as that has been missing from the FW32. Some of that is drivetrain but a lot of that is the mechanical grip and stability. This should be the teams focus anyway with such a big drop in downforce next year.

Nice to see the FW32 racking up some regular points though...if they can secure 6th it should help the finances a lot with loss of RBS next year.

For a team like Williams RBS wont be difficult to replace, even if they need replacing at all as they already have a title sponsor and a nice handfull of others inc. Phillips.

Williams are one of 3 teams i think that are posistioned in a good place for the resource cap, they already employ between 350 and 450 people and live within their means financally. If they finish 6th, they will get a good chunk of money and if they can attract a couple of sponsors to replace the $20 million that RBS give them every season they will be still there.

I have no worries that Williams will be strong for 2011, Rubens will make sure that the car has what he wants, and Williams will deliver that to him. Hulkenberg will develop with that as well.

What i think Williams should do is offer Virgin a alliance for a gearbox, or one that will see both teams split the costs of developing a gearbox that is better than the ones they have.
