Virgin Racing VR-01 Cosworth

What a good start! Perhaps they thought the dot matrix-printout would not be convincing enough for the public?

 If they can't run a website launch successfully.. how can they run CFD successfully..?

Some specs from their fact sheet tho..

Overall Length: approx 5500mm
Overall Height: approx 950mm
Overall Width: approx 1800mm
Wheelbase approx: approx 3200mm

Fuel Capacity: In excess of 200 litres

hope they didn't build it with 'approximates' tho!

It must have been a dull event. No video, no pictures! Pretty much no car perhaps. Did they forget to build it after they showed it to the drivers in the simulator?

Is it just me or does it have a single front wing mount?

the livery isn't bad, very distinguishable, a bit less red would have been even better

It would look much better with a darker shade of red!

the marketing bit is quite bad, especially considering Virgin's record for this sort of PR

There were at least three cars with a single support. Tyrrell@1997, Ferrari@1996 (F310 first iteration) and Brabham@1991.

The Cars' nose profile is similar to the F10s'. Interesting...

Stole Fx-Pro from BMW-Sauber! That took me by surprise!

That's an extremely simplified front wing in particular.. even for a launch car.

Going by the little square piece protruding to the left of Timo's lower leg, it doesn't look like the trendy zero keel either.. single or twin? argh.. need better photos!

They didn't do anything spectacular with Brawn last year either.
This has been nothing outrageous or fancy as a launch that's for sure, but it is consistent with their 'lowest F1 budget' branding that they've been running with.

..altho the delay hiccup sure isn't as smooth as what Virgin are usually associated with.
