he is explicitly citing the better únderstanding of the tyres , small changes to the mechanical setup unearthing big chunks of potential especially over long stints ,the effect impressing and surprising him immensely but making it harder to extract a perfect lap from the car.

This another bit of evidence to the conspiracy that RedBull has given Toro Rosso Downforce limits over the season.

Why would they do that??? They are hardly in competition. If STR do well thats a good ad for Red Bull. That they can maintain a (both) championship leading team and a good mid fielder. Most teams can only claim the second and only 2 others can claim the first.

Cheers for that & I'd rather have a car that's consistent and quick during a long stint than one that's easy on 1 lap. Hopefully they can continue discovering more about the car to extract even more from it.
