Whats the expected tyre wear going to be ? Kinder on the tyres than in Australia? Plus the use harder compounds.

Why couldnt Pirelli use Purple, Pink, Orange, Brown?

Silver is a silly idea when they have white already!

They said that during the race, the silver will fade away due to the rotation speed of the wheel and it will look like a plain black tyre, so you can make a good difference between medium (white) and hard (wich will look black). Pirelli also stated that some tests were made to make sure that the colors this year can easily be distinguished by everyone.
"...and there, very much in flames, is Jacques Laffite's Ligier. That's obviously a turbo blaze, and of course, Laffite will be able to see that conflagration in his mirrors... he is coolly parking the car somewhere safe." Murray Walker, San Marino 1985

Sepang kind on tyres? Heavens no. This thing eats tyres for breakfast. The heat - and the long corners will pound the life out of the tyres. There will be massive heat deg.

Unless of course it rains

EDIT - some people have been very touchy lately - so as a disclaimer - I didn't mean to sound condescending

Nice opening post

What's the weather saying? I guess it's kinda useless to try and predict it a week in advance, especially in that area...

Mind you - even if it does rain you never know - it might not rain on the circuit. One of the things about rain in the tropics is that it can be very local. It could be as little as 15 minutes walk going from one end of the rain area to the other end.

Either way, it's Sepang, there's a good chance that if there's thunder storms about, we're going to get a cloud burst over the circuit at some point. Fingers crossed :D

I'm hoping for a full wet race. Not monsoon wet mind. But I'm hoping for a proper race that is wet from start to finish. Something like we had in Korea 2010 would be ideal - wet surface without the visibility problems

High Deg will be good though, as everyone will suffer from it , and will only be a lap or 2 difference between drivers who are kind and drivers who are hard on tyres.

I'm not convinced by that logic – remember valencia last year? The RB7 ran off with it because it had massively lower deg than the McLaren.

Ditto with beelsebob. Except in Valencia it was overheating rears rather than deg; which bloated the rears rather than rubber deg per se. Same idea though.
