absolute bogus!

what was the point of the hearing if no penalties were going to be given? just because today vettel was remorseful of the incident and accepted blame he gets to do community service.

what a farce... happy birthday!

This will be interesting to hear.
As well as the apology made to the FIA behind closed doors on Monday, a public apology from Vettel is due to be made as well.

I guess he needs all the points he can get. The Merc will just monster off in to the distance now anyway. Still, bit pointless meeting in France for a chat.

a bit too eager to call this immediately. there's plenty to discuss. for example how complete of a farce this whole sharade of a 'hearing' was.

not that i expected anything differently, that for sure.

but still.

however you want to put it,
facts are:

- Lewis did NOT do a brake test , proven

- Vettel smashed into the back of Lewis during the SC - causing a collision - not penalized
- Vettel drove alongside lewis without his hands on the steering wheel - dangerous driving - penalized.
- Vettel delibaretly turned into lewis to smash him from the side. proven - causing a collision - not penalized
- Vettel overtook Lewis (briefly) during the SC period - overtaking during the safety car - not penalized
- Vettel brought the sport in discredit with his behavior - proven - not penalized

that's 5 infractions of which only 1 was served, way too soft.

message now sent into F1 by Vettel and the FIA:

you can lose your temper and blame others for your own mistake, then agressively smash into them, get minimal to no penalty at all, and then say you're sorry and nothing will happen, even if you have a history of agression.

great example, FIA. great example. #-o

I don't agree with you:
1) this kind of incidents from this year are considered race incidents and no penalties have been given to nobody (otherwise BOT and VES should have already been at home).
2 and 3 ) have been punished with 10s stop and go and 3 points from the licence.
4) only speaking of this is ridiculous (if any 10 cm of overtaking for 1 second and position immediately given back).
5) FIA today has decided that the sport has not been discredited with his behaviour.

Get over it. brundle, button, stewart and company said :move on. He got his penalty
The FIA, doesn't care what they think. Not to mention the FIA's opinion is the only one that really matters.
So do we all still agree that the FIA's opinion is the only one that matters? I do!

I take it you didn't read any of the news?

"remained deeply concerned by the wider implications of the incident, firstly through the impact such behaviour may have on fans and young competitors worldwide and secondly due to the damage such behaviour may cause to the FIA's image and reputation of the sport".
