Yeah i guess so, so if Lewis in 2nd with Bottas 1st, will they not let Lewis use his full power for longer ? You know, making it fair. As they like that too

Its not surprising it did well, its the fact that Ferrari and RB did relatively good in S1 and S2 where power is more important...
Since when did the Ferrari PU became inferior to Mercedes, to be classified with a Renault PU? And Bottas is using a PU that was most probably introduced at Spa, which has potentially done races at Spa, Monza, Malaysia, Suzuka, USA and Mexico (due to power demand). Now compare that to both RBs whose power units are relatively young.
It wasnt. As far as I can see, RB is considarably slower then Ferrari here as well.

You can see top speeds and sector speeds, pretty much 8 of first 10 spots are Merc cars. There is at least few tenths there on these kind of tracks (very long and with high throttle percentage).

Felt a little warm on fuzzy for a moment there. Memories of the good ole days of Lewis and Nico fighting to get that first pitstop! Oh I wish for those halcyon days of Mercedes domination to return.

I don't think the team would stop that, more along the lines of not letting the drivers do something the will risk the result. By that I mean, if Bottas only has 4 laps of qualli mode left, they aren't going to let him use more than that.

Ditto

Maybe Merc should just supply everyone the engine, Ferrari or Redbull supply the chassis and we all get the close racing we want lulz. We'll call it Formula Cube.

It would be cool if you could make a video where you reset each sector between them.

Incredible speed through the sector 3, compared to last year.

I do sometime wonder why this is called F1 technical forum......
I also wonder that as the website logo looks like GPtechnical to me.

Also had a few notifications from this thread but nothing here when i arrive.
So this is your "technical" post: lying about the past and making up the future =P~ (just in case) ?

As for poor Hamilton's unfair treatment by evil Mercedes it's still 5:0 (Hun 15, Hun 17, Mon 16 Bah 17 * 2) in terms od open team orders. Fair would be 5:5 so let's wait for it without holding breath.

Ignored mate. You continue to bite, but ill let it go.

Back to the race, really looking forward to this one, hoping no one goes out at the start. I want to see all 6 of them fighting. And id like to see Mclaren get away well and not stuck behind a Merc powered car like Brazil.

Farewell sexy cars. Make it a good one for everyone watching!

Well that was an interesting start for the top 6. They all pretty much had a perfect start.

Impressive mileage on Bottas engine, others will be doomed next year if they stick to 3 engine per year because this years mercedes engine could have probably done it.

And we officially have a deserving reigning F1 champion again. Good times.
Bottas had good strategy. Hamilton quite poor.
Bottas pitted when Hamilton had to clear a back-marker and couldn't make up time.
Hamilton pitted too early or too late. And then pressed too early and used up his tires. Also Bottas doesn't get bored driving at first place. It's the only thing that seems to motivate him. Hamilton had no pressure from Vettel, he should have pitted half a dozen laps later and caught up Bottas only in the end for one big effort. Attacking several times just ruins tires. So does staying less than 2 seconds behind. Different strategy of pits and driving would have given him a slim chance at least.
