Hamilton is untouchable in S1 but he lost out on S3.

Nothing new. It's been like that for almost every Qualifying this season. Top teams go out on the softest tyres just before Q3 to do a last practice run. And then they abort the run.
Ferrari didn’t they ran the US.

Hamilton was 4/10th’s up on the slower tyre.
Ferrari had already done the first run on US. But anyway, they still did a second run on US in Q2. Didn't you watch?
In Montreal Ferrari did the exactly same like Mercedes today. Also in other races.

Looking at Grosjean's front tire flat spot, the abrasive run-off seem to have done its job. If someone has to brake hard on these run-off during the race, I would assume, he will have to write-off that set of tires.

Hamilton 4/10th’s quicker in S1, Bottas quicker in S2 and then when it’s clear they are safely through they back off and pit.
Somewhat worrying.

Also Ricciardo gets to start with the SS as well.
Verstappen as well. Horner just said

Hamilton will walk it. This extra setup time for other teams won't help them. 1:29.8 potential for Hamilton from Horner

Ferrari didn’t do a practice run though. There was no point as they were on the the US anyway. Only RedBull and Mercedes pulled that trick.
