Probably they need to adjust parts they brought here. New wing, turning vanes. Also they are nowhere on speedtrap. Either major sandbag(which I doubt) or major blunder.

Amus says that Mercedes is half a second quicker with both HS (albeit not that representative) and US than ferrari.

can the longer wheelbase of the ferrari this season vs last can be having an affect on their tires?

seems like the issues they're having is similar to mercs diva last year.

Sky were talking about someone's index finger on the steering wheel. Did anyone get what that was about, or whom they were speaking of ?
Hartley kept flipping them off.
Why ?

If they can change totally the set-up and find a lot of pace we may have a good race, if not, it doesn´t look at all. They are slower and they don´t manage the tyres very well. What the hell is goind on with Ferrari?
If I had to guess, The season long battle to bring performance updates has led them down a path that yields greater performance, but has a narrower setup window as a consequence.

- A quick analysis of FP2 times tells us that Kimi`s second stint on S tyres was on higher 1:38 and lower 1:39 but more of that he was faster than both Bottas on US and even Lewis on HS tyre! (Max and Ricci were simulating a 2 stop-race with the last stint on low fuel and HS tyres)

- On that tyre working range picture above we could see that HS tyre has a low operation and also works on the lowest temperatures but here track temp was 28 degrees Celsius in FP2 and it seems to Ferrari no getting enough heat into them (with Vettel having graining on left front tyre). Same track temp was at Spa but there it was SS tyre the softest tyre available ...

- In the speed traps, Ferrari was at the same level as Merc and those higher figures have to be put down on having a tow or not (at least in Vettel`s case)

- And looking from the amount and quality updates point of view it seems that Ferrari sacrificed almost the entire day in order to gather some data. This must be put together with their late habits of sandbagging on Fridays and a detuned PU mode which lead them into this situation ...

Hartley when turning right (i think it was right) seems to take his index finger off the steering wheel and it looks a little like he's pointing. He doesn't do it when turning the other way though. Just something he does, and like Herbert said, Hartley probably doesn't even realise he does it.

Mercedes brought their fair share of upgrades to T&E as well.

Regardless of what Ferrari is doing with their PUs, I'm pretty sure they're not deliberately poorly managing their tires.

Mine was made based on looking at the speeds Raikkonen and Hamilton were getting, but carry on and be smug.
