Leclerc owed Vettel a tow. Sure. But the first time around Vettel had a tow too. So technically Leclerc didnt owe Vettel a tow without having a tow for himself. Also they would risk Ferrari losing a pole if Vettel wouldn't improve and Mercedes would. Now that would have made him fool of the day. Better to be the bad guy than a fool. And by the way, what was Vettel thinking when he passed Leclerc on the warm up lap. This was exactly what Leclerc needed: a reason for confusion. Vettel should have stayed behind Leclerc and come on the radio shouting: COME ON GO, SERIOUSLY (like only he can)

When Seb was in front, he also stayed behind Saintz, because the wanted his tow. What was expected of Charles when he overtook Sebastian? Sacrifice his lap and overtake Saintz to go in without a tow himself?
That's exactly what he was supposed to do when it was clear there was no more time. Vettel did it first time round, then it was leclerc's turn. It doesn't really matter that sainz was the guy behind vettel in the end in the first run. Leclerc got a pretty good tow off of sainz so vettel did his part and leclerc didn't. Simple.
Vettel didnt give Leclerc a tow though.

Vettel didn't have a tow first time round. He was the first one out. That's what leclerc had to do on the second run, but didn't.

Vettel was in fact saying on the radio to hig engineer that they have to tell leclerc to get a move on, something he was reluctant to do for obvious reasons.

As I said already this ultimately didn't matter much because everyone got a tow off vettel. Just becase there was a car in between mean leclerc is off the hook.

If they were meant to be first out at the front, why release them 5th and 7th in the queue? Why not release them 30 seconds earlier.

because they wanted both cars to have a tow is the likely answer.

Did you hear the short article last week where (I think it was) Sauber(?? or Steiner??) was asked how long from getting the word the car actually left the pit?
The reply was 'about 2.5 min'. Even though they could guess everyone else was coming out around then, I doubt it was a deliberate choice to split them.

Maybe it wasn't clear, let me rephrase: intentionally went slow and did not give a tow.
Yeah I see what your saying, but I don't think it was Charles fault Vettel didn't get a lap. Seb just got unlucky that all the drivers didn't want to lead the group. Unlucky circumstances is what it was, no one played a dirty game on anyone in particular.

Leclerc played dirty all weekend, mate. The radio call after the race is the proof. I am angry with the whole thing. I dont think it was fair. Not fair on Saturday, not fair on Sunday.

Hamilton just tried a ‘ballsy’ move on the outside- which was never going to work.. he should have known better as well- after all he’s a 5time WDC.
Please see the videos below and tell me what a racer would do! and how hard racing they all did, including the defending drivers and how clean everyone were at the same corner

So according to you Lewis should have stayed behind Leclerc even when he got his front wheel to the level of bargeboards of Leclerc's car!
so much win in this post
