I am not sure who that VES guy is, but he looks quick.

Or do you mean VER (Verstappen)

I am fully expecting Norris and Ricciardo to use the 'change background' feature to make it appear they are in Melbourne or some exotic island

DAS. It'll probably lead to Red Bull wasting time and energy on complaining to the FIA and/or developing their own version. Heck, they may turn up in Austria with their own version already on the car.
RBR does not need the DAS system. The car itself is good and fast enough with regard to tire wear.
Nor are they going to complain this weekend to the FIA about the DAS system. This has been confirmed by Horner.
How do you know that the Merc isn't also fast enough and doesn't need DAS?

And I wouldn't believe Horner if he promised me a free pint.

Never heard of it, but it can’t be any worse then your posts.

Anyways they detected a failure In Hamilton’s engine, so they have to remove it and investigate :)

imo, an insignificant amount. It will most likely pay dividends with respect to tire longevity, and temperature management.
.. thus maybe/possibly a bigger difference than only an insignificant amount ?
Guess we'll have to see ...
As has been seen over the last few seasons, being able to manage your tires better than others can be more beneficial than an outright lap time advantage.

For example if you can't heat them up appropriately, you will find it hard to set a good lap time in qualifying. If you can't keep them cool during the race, you can't push for an extended period of time.
Exactly what I mean ..

A short lap in Austria which is always worth bearing in mind before we get excited about a “closer” grid.

Tyres have played a key role in recent years here so be interested to see how it pans out this year.

From a driver perspective, fascinating to see how a liberated Vettel goes in the prancing horse - he will be spicy for sure. Also intrigued by Esteban Ocon in the Renault, who was very impressive in the Force India against a very good yardstick in Perez when we last saw himS. He could find himself de facto lead driver in the 4th and final factory team on the grid. Huge opportunity for him.

Lando Norris has the all important sophomore season to prove his mettle and I’m excited to see George Russell get in some tussles if the Williams is better this year.
