Bravo to Merc+Lewis. They were the only team who worked on their 2020 car's development :D Others have been spending their development money on 2021 (now, 2022) cars, I guess. LOVING it!! :D :D

Seems like HAM is now more bias qualy setup, knowing that:

1.BOT is his main contender this year (which almost always tend to setup his car towards the qualy, coz being in pole is his biggest chance to beat HAM) and

2.his tyre management is better hence he has the upper hand considering race pace ...

even max is 6 tenths down to the qualy lap last year.

i dont get it what they did over the winter.
mercedes just did the job and found a few tenths.

ok well with hes last lap its the same time as last year. But question is still viable
When was the last time we saw teams slower than the previous year with no regulation changes?
There was a rule change remember
TWO fuel flow sensors now, with measuring flow rates scrambled, only FIA knows what are its timings for measurement

That is a major regulation change, everyone struggling except Mercedes.
yeah i know. everytime when rb is not that fast as they want its the engine.

We know that for a decade now. :D

But still the car is not good on downforce levels. Max is complaining at every session. And they do not drive with that less wings as they did usually. So i think there are other issues with the car.

Yeah true most of the time, BUT this time they are 6 tenths slower than their last years time, so...

What's amazing to me, is assuming Lewis gets a contract for next year, 8 championships 100 plus poles, and 100 plus wins all look to be within his grasp.

I honestly believe it is without a doubt the best Formula 1 car ever built.

Is starting on Soft going to be such a major disadvantage vs the Mediums? I know the Soft got destroyed on Friday but much cooler conditions now. Also in the second stint, the Soft runners can be on Medium vs Medium runners on Hard, so they should be faster?

If you start on the softs, you will most likely have to two stop.

The Mercedes PU has to be the low-key biggest jump we have seen since when? 2014?

we know that mercedes had temperature problems with the engine last year.
Also williams was so far away that it was likely they make a jump.
