It would be a home country GP win.

Pirelli should mandate higher tyre pressures to stabilise the sidewall, reduce maximum camber and stipulate a maximum number of laps.
The tyre wear did look odd. In the pictures I saw the other front tyre on Hamilton’s car seemed to have an outer edge that looked brand new/untouched in fact you could still see the dots on it on the outside tyre patch. It looked for all the world that it had too much negative camber.

Everytime this discussion about tire limits. Every team can chose by themselve how strong their rear wing mounting is. Why they can't chose how much tire pressure, chamber or laps they do with the tires? It's in their own interest not to have a tire failure! I'm very sure they would take it seriously. Of course Pirelli can or should make recommendations to help, but the team should have the freedom.

Colin Chapman would say it had the perfect camber

Interesting. I would think using 4/5 of the tyre is under using them.

I am not saying Camber is the cause of the problem because it isn't, but if the root cause is not decided, reducing the camber will make the tyre more resistant to damage. Just a saftey measure.

That said said things seem to be pointing towards the curbing they cut back at chapel where a little dirt ditch was created. Bit of of exposure to the hard edge of the rest if curb and such.

Really? Haven't heard this before. Who is reporting this out of interest?

I’m pointing out that an inboard wall failure can’t be helped by the fact that only 4/5 of the tyre is being used towards the inboard side.

Albert frabega and some others. But even before that you could see the cars dipping their wheels into the ditch after the esses.

Did F3, F2 and Porsche supercup use different curbs this weekend? The curbs are not the problem.

Key points:-"For the second race at Silverstone this weekend, Pirelli confirms that the nominated compounds: C2, C3, and C4 - one step softer than those seen at the last GP - will still be used.

Also the usage prescription will be reviewed, increasing the minimum tyre pressures to reduce the stress on the construction."

Typical Pirelli hand waving, tand trying to shift blame.....

Combined with the notably increased pace of the 2020 cars (pole position was 1.2 seconds faster compared to 2019) this made the final laps of the Grand Prix especially tough, as a consequence of the biggest forces ever seen on tyres generated by the fastest F1 cars in history.
They don't seem to understand that this is how F1 works, the cars get faster every year.......
