Well, no. He's had other punctures and tyre issues where the tyres are worn to the canvas where other drivers don't have those problems. I keep coming back to what Martin Whitmarsh said after Australia "If Lewis could have made those tyres last..........."

Typical really. Hamilton has one decent race that he hasn't had for a while and suddenly all his previous issues magically disappear and he's suddenly blowing Button away..............

It is pretty sure that the brake and wheel rim failures of this season are a consequence of unsafe design of wheel nut threads and nut seats.

Chris Horner was saying that Vettel was running on 3 brakes only.

The problem was quite bizarre as basically the brake on the left hand side stopped working completely and the disc effectively split in half, straight down the middle of the spline, so effectively you have just got a spacer in there and so he had only got three brakes, so all the bias was towards the rear and he was using mainly the aerodynamics to stop the car and built some huge margin into his braking zones. With having fitted the option tyre at the end of the race on relatively light fuel load he actually did a purple sector in the middle sector with three brakes.

3 fully operating brakes but with 100% rear bias correct? Otherwise the car would pull to the right if the front was still used.

Look at telemetry. Vettel does touch the brakes a little while the speed is relatively high, then more when he is already entering the corner. The car looks pretty stable, which means that the majority of bias is rear.

I have said before, Vettel is talking out his rectum if he say he had no brakes for 5 laps. THER IS JUST NO WAY.

Turn 10 sees to that.
More could have been done.

if Horners words were right my question is were was the brake disc going when it was not there anymore...they are bullshitting around ,as always.

my view is that the whole hub /Brakedisc area is seriously underdevbeloped with these new loads to carry. the fitting system is not safe when trying to come down to sub 5 s wheel changes.the system has to take care for itself not rely on time(!) and pressure on the airline as two parameters you are not really able to control in a sub 3 s stop.too much possibility to go wrong plus the eventualities of foreign objects ,used partially worn drivepegs engaging in hubs ...it stinks and looks like all teams rely on basically the same system which now highlights design weaknesses.
the dramatic raise of wheel/hub related incidents hints at the load case is just too high for this system or the human factor is not able to cope with the demands of a 3 sec stop with this system.
