Quali is at 3pm, race is at 1pm in the UK.

http://www.formula1.com and click "convert to my local time" in the bar to the right (below the weather symbols). This is updated for each race - I check it every time to make sure I don't miss a race.

There's been very scattered heavy thundery showers for the last 2 days, mainly in the afternoon and talk is of it continuing like this until at least Saturday. The track (like everywhere here) will dry up within 20 minutes (depending on the amount of rain of course) but certainly a lot quicker than most other circuits. With all this the humidity is quite high so more discomfort for the drivers. Not sure how humidity would effect engines...anyone out there more learned than I that can answer?
Thanks for the update, there's no better source of info than someone on site. Conditions of high temperature, low barometric pressure and high humidity all combine to reduce the engine power.
Tests on automotive engines, made under sea-level conditions, showed that water vapor acts as an inert diluent, reducing engine power in proportion to the amount of vapor present. By combining the effects of atmospheric pressure, temperature, and humidity, it is shown that the indicated power obtainable from an engine is proportional to its mass rate of consumption of oxygen. This has led the National Advisory Committee for Aeronautics to adopt a standard basis for the correction of engine performance, in which the effect of humidity is included.

So far this season, each race has delivered excitment, surprises, and great racing. I just can't wait for the race to come, and wonder what surprises it will deliver.
Racing should be decided on the track, not the court room.

I understand that it did not rain during the night. The qualifying and the race will be at 22:00 and 20:00 h local time. Did you have a wet track at that time lately?
For tomorrow they have predicted rain for 17:00 and dry for 20:00h. This means FP1 could be affected but FP2 should be dry.

That's a waterjet to clean the track surely? Of any street rubber and that notorious film of dust?

I was wondering is this machine is the one from the news: Singapore introduces new track cleaning machine.

This sounds like a green track after any activity of this monster:
TrackJet® can be used to remove rubber skid marks and old markings without damaging the sensitive asphalt or concrete surfaces.

So the track could be cleaned of any marbles, rubber and all other stuff by a shift of that thing overnight?
Multiple racing lines anyone? I don't mind if they are all green.

The rubber removal from airport runways is the initial purpose of the machine. Excessive rubber on runways can reduce the friction coefficient of the runway to half of the value after cleaning it with this machine. It means that landing aircraft will come to a safe stop on the calculated runway length.

In Singapore it is mainly used to remove dirt and dust that makes the track slippery. Last year a number of F1 drivers seem to have complained about dust. The trackjet in Singapore is also fitted with a Vacuflex suction unit that is designed to remove all debris that is taken off by the water jet. This could be very usefull to remove carbon fibre debris after accidents. The machine cleans 860m²/h. So an accident spot of 10m length can be done in 10 minutes.

don't follow that bit of extrapolation
if it can clear that area in one straight run it won't be able to clear the equivilent area if it needs to turn to clear a length of track , unless it can be arranged for all debris to be within one cleaning width of the vehicle , which looks to be about 2.55 metres

can't see that this machine would be of any use during races
to the optimist a glass is half full ; to the pessimist a glass is half empty ; to the F1 engineer the glass is twice as big as it needs to be

FP1 is on and the track is drying. Rain has stopped some time ago and the sky is clear.
