The car will be called RS16. As in "Renault Sport 2016" or, as some people said, "We spent all our energies in the livery and couldn't come up with a better name"

Considering they are called Renault Sport. RS kinda fits the bill. Also most of the Renault cars of the past were called RS...

Why are people picking so many holes? What did you want them to call it? EagleThrust16? Doris? Malcolm?

Grow up people!!

The previous name wasn't really more creative: E23, with the E standing Enstone. Mclaren does the same MP4-xx, with MP4 standing for Mclaren Project 4 (the merger between Mclaren and Project Four).

If anybody was expecting something more original: I have been told the name Bumblebee is copyrighted.

Speaking of sponsors, Yotaphone, Altran, Richard Mille and Saxo Bank are gone. As is, of course, PDVSA. Seems that the (alleged) 300 million budget will come almost exclusively from Renault's pocket...

But the designers were not so good at mechanical stuff.
Especially the aerodynamics guy. "Hammertime" fits better to him than LH.

In fact, the previous name was a lot better than just "initials of the company + current year".

If you want to be at the top of the game you need this per year.

Really? Renault is only putting in 30 mil a year? That seems doubtful.

Something is wrong there! customer engines have changed hands for not much more than that.

Basically but A. it's a trend in F1, see McLaren. B. It's overall marketing profit that counts like with Mercedes (despite "losses") and Red Bull (that's why they stayed), the tricky part is you need top results. Also:
- they get money for nothing from Ecclestone - this part covers more than small sponsors mentioned
- Jack&Jones = Magnussen is an evil pay driver, just like Maldonado  and so is Palmer of course
- money for engines from Red Bull
- Infinity money they used to pay to RB
- more from Total

About management:
- Stoll
- Abiteboul - managing director
- Vasseur - racing director; Bell - chief technical officer
