Ocon is under contract for three years and comes with Mercedes backing, while Perez is out of contract for next year.
With team rebranding, new sponsors and consecutive fourth place finish means checo's sponsors are not that important.
He might leave to Renault or williams to replace massa.
I think Renault already looks satisfied with Hulk, they are looking for someone consistent, Jolyon is out of F1 in 2018 for sure. Checo might have a chance here but I hardly think Renault will sign, they'll rather go with someone young and with French connection.

Williams will definitely look for Checo's experience, Massa is too old for F1 now.

I think the sponsor money from mexico does have impact on SFI's car development, as after paying Checo around 6 million SFI does get 14 million remaining, plus bonus sponsors for Mexican GP.

Yes i've watched the full race, did you?

or is it just too much fun jumping in on the hype bashing train?

Ocon was frustrated about the pit and that Perez was in front of him, like the diva Ocon wants an entire track all to himself, not thinking about the bigger picture because Ocon only thinks about number one himself.

He then tried to squeeze between the wall and Perez, but there was no room for him to pass there, especially since Perez was in front and Ocon not with his wheels in front of his rear wheels, goes with his wheels over the white line fully seeing the wall closing in on him but deciding not to back off and have another go after eau rouge like any other sane driver would do.

matter of fact, his entire move makes no sense since you cannot overtake there like that.

even IF perez would have left him room (which is the only thing you could argue there), Ocon did not have enough speed to make it to the corner and overtake Perez there and would have had to yield anyway. It is a brainless move from nothing but blind rage.

If he stayed behind Perez through eau rouge, he would have had a slipstream giving him an advantage, AND DRS to overtake Perez and perez would have been a sitting duck especially with fresher tires for Ocon. Instead, by blindly going into a position he could not hold whilst Perez was definding his position > to which he has ALL the right, and not short of how Verstappen does (and is hailed for) that, Ocon insisted staying where he was instead of just for a milisecond lifting throttle which would have avoided contact, and ruining both their races and losing valuable points along the way.

I repeat that Ocon is blind as a bat in all his anger and rage which he can't seem to control because he has some beef with Perez after Canada and Baku. He doesn't calm down but feels like he has something to settle with Perez and loses all the temper and control and pushes himself and his car in situations that can only have a bad outcome.

He tried the corner, he didn't carry enough speed to pass Perez or get alongside enough that Perez couldn't defend anymore, he couldn't pass outside of Perez into eau rouge anyway, and instead of lifting and staying right on Perez' tail (like Vettel on Hamilton for example), then getting on the next straight having a massive advantage from the slipstream AND the DRS AND fresh tires he would have BLAZED past Perez who would have no answer to it, get first into the next corner, and blaze off into the sunset and score many points whilst having beaten his teammate, which is what he's so blinded to do anyway.

It is too stupid for words, yet Perez gets the blame? come on.

Ocon's speed and craft speak for themselves, he is blazingly fast but he is an even bigger hothead than Grosjean was but too arrogant to even concider anything else but his own game and then exegerates like perez tried to kill him? drama 'queen' much?

James Allen's take on the issue and I think I have to agree, the team messed up and setup this situation which could have been avoided in hindsight -

"Normally the leading car has the pit stop priority unless there is some kind of outside threat to the tail car.
With 20 laps to go Force India pitted Perez first. He served his five-second penalty and rejoined. His out lap on new tyres was very fast and at this point the team should have made the call to pit Ocon on the next lap. He went around again and in the course of those two laps lost five seconds to Perez.
When Ocon pitted he rejoined just ahead, but on warmer tyres Perez passed him into Turn 5 at the end of the Kemmel Straight.
Either Force India had their tyre model and undercut profiles wrong – which would be strange having seen after the first stops that Ocon pulled three seconds on Perez by stopping two laps earlier – or they must have known what would happen.
Either way there was now a situation where the driver who has been ‘wronged’ at the start by his team mate but got away with it and is on course to beat him to the flag, loses track position to his teammate. And there is a fair bit of history between them from Canada and Baku.
Clearly angry, Ocon tried for force the issue, when it might have been prudent to try the pass with DRS on the straight after Eau Rouge, but Perez made a decision to come across on him."

Fanboy yin-yang does not have its place here, so all the Perez-Ocon bickering has been moved to where it belongs.

Bashing and hailing drivers is off-topic yin-yang. It's not what this forum is for.
Reasonable discussion of particular incidents is welcome mostly in race threads and here, but only if it can be done reasonably, objectively, and without ridiculous and reciprocating downvotes.

Slowly & steadily,FI is becoming Merc junior team(very much in-line with 'Redbull-TR' model). This move will also put pressure on Perez & Ocon for 2018.

Indeed. You also have the Hass-Ferrari situation.

As such plenty of drivers/teams have very little reason to 'fight' against some other cars. It reduces the sport for me.
STR jumping out of the way for RB, Hass jumping out of the way for Ferrari, etc.

Have to agree with you both there.

Customer teams have been really weak in fighting for position with any big guns. Renault (as the works team) aside, everyone else lacks the ambition and seem happy to take advantage of the fact they are up against a couple of big teams with poor power units.

F1 needs to rediscover its sporting edge above all else. Whilst I think Force India have done a very, very good job with their resources, they also have played second fiddle to the Merc works team and don't get the same development rate which is horrendous for sporting contest.

It's bad enough that the revenue budgets are as unfair as they are without being held to ransom over the PU.

Let's hope we see a bit more fight in them against their Merc partners in future- they certainly have two drivers capable of making life very difficult for the others!

I think they should rename team as Panthers with pink colour cars to become pink panthers, they already use PinkPanthers as twitter hashtag almost all the time also commentators, fans and paddock refer them as PinkPanthers.

What an amazing season for Force India (probably last season we address them by that time)….accomplished something which many teams envious about. Kudos to both drivers for delivering performance on track; especially Ocon, great find for team & formula one.

Next season will be their greatest challenge to defend 4th position against the might of Renault & McLaren. I am cautiously optimistic but even if they won’t be able to hold that position; nothing is lost. It will remain a great success story for years to come in F1.
Go Pink Panther Go!!!!!!!!!!!
