I've been wondering what could be in the chassis that damaged the PU seeing that this is the chassis they've been using since testing, until I saw this:

Look at the rear end of the STR13 and compare it with this:

Looks like they finally got the tight rear package :) Something also tells me that was one of the culprits of the issue they had.

Furthermore, and just speculation on my part at this point, is that together with the tighter rear end, they might have also tightened a bit the PU packaging together with the new PU, bringing a complete update to the test. That could well explain why the PU might have been damaged by the chassis and of course, that's why you need testing.

That would also mean that updates will not probably come before Canada, so that they have enough time to fix any issues they find during testing.

The PU is a stressed member of the chassis. I'd guess it has to do with something that broke that could have caused undue stress on the PU. They've had tighter packaging at the rear for a bit, now.

Are you sure about the rear packaging? When did they introduce it? This is the first time I saw it.

Just checked some photos and you're right.

Too many mistakes on my side for today. Looks like it's time to sign out

Looks like it was the oil radiator that got damaged from the chassis related issue.

But, when they come back at track the last minutes. Why the car seemed so "nervous", overpowering at the exit of the corners, even producing an spin on the middle of the turn... That was because the new PU wasn't mapped?? Or because they were using an upgraded PU with more power and low end torque?? :?: #-o :?:

Haven't seen the footage, but they are probably testing the new ICE indeed.

Maybe it's me, but the PU sounds a little different when accelerating than the race day... Only on low rpms...

I hope tomorrow when I will do the streaming again, Gasly is running and can show us 😁
