This forum contains threads to discuss teams themselves. Anything not technical about the cars, including restructuring, performances etc belongs here.
It was a better race that what I was expecting. 1 pont (if no penalty) and the Gap couldn't be that big on race pace if he was able to catch a FI on the straight to pass it. (Perez had DRS too), so I think that they have more chassis issues to solve than engine ones..
i doubt any thing will favoure STR while they have a nothing budget and a rookie and a WEC driver
Bahrain after all was one off they got the best setup accidentally
Thanks for the info. Wonder why he retired. Maybe they saw something they didn't like, but that was non-fatal (some kind of slow leak) ? Can't imagine they'd just give up on the whole race if all was well. Awaiting the team race-day press release.
Edit : Just after I posted, the press release appeared. "Unfortunately, on the reconnaissance lap prior to the race, we could see that something was not right on Hartley's car. We tried to fix it and still sent him out, but it was clear there was a problem and we had to retire him. The problem has now been traced to a loose connector on the PU side."
Not a great day, but quite encouraging to see the scrap with FI. It's a bit clear Gasly needs to work on his race craft. When battling with experienced guys like Checo, they can force you into making mistakes or being overly aggressive. But still a good scrap.
Q: (Stefano Mancini – La Stampa) Kimi, will you help Vettel to win his championship this year?
Kimi Raikkonen: I can only drive one car, obviously.
