Whatever the Mercs have got up their sleeves with that I'm sure the others will find out soon (maybe with the help of the right rule clarification questions)

Back on topic..
Pierre should have a good race if he can string things together. Being one of his favorite tracks should help.

RB15 looks like it misses some of the RB14 low speed traction cause if you look at the 2018 -> 2019 improvements per sector in Barcelona quali the RB15 is doing 2 to 3 tenths better in S1 and S2 but no improvement in S3 (Verstappen 2018 S3 vs Verstappen 2019 S3). Only team to improve massively in S3 is Merc.

I hope Redbull can find something to improve until Monaco race. If longer wheelbase doesn't effect merc can win again.

So that just shows this year's Honda is faster than last year's Renault, but Red Bull has slightly improved the chassis performance. Enough to compensate for the aero losses, Mercedes is the only team that has a faster car than last year's.

Yes. And they have improved the same as RB in S1 and S2 but improved 0.44s in S3.

You don't get that from iteration, there has to be something they're doing that others aren't.

I think they have it since Singapore last year but it works even better with this years chassis/tyres/aero. A miracle low speed traction improver that allows a very high downforce setting. Just look at how fast Bottas is on corner entry to apex compared to Vettel.

Bottas just gets on the throttle so much sooner.

Yes but with significantly more traction leading to no wheel spin, more stable tyres as they don't overheat and a faster lap time.
