So sponsorship deal is ended, but since Rich Energy has broken the contract they still have to pay 35m$ to Haas in penalties?

Did I understand this one correctly?

In contrast to brainlet William Storey you have, yes.

I wonder if he'll try to pretend that it's a different company now that has nothing to do with the previous one meaning he wouldn't have to pay up (which is bullshit of course but he might be legitimately retarded judging by the tweets recently)

So the old aero is better than the new aero judging by grosjean beating mag in qualifying.
K mag didn't get a good lap in I think

You cannot judge by qualifying. Race pace is where the issue lies.

I've yet to see the sponsor being given the benefit of the doubt. Lots of pointing and laughing. Criticism boils down to 'the guy looks funny.' Haas not exactly the pinnacle of composure either considering their team principal and driver lineup. What actually is going on in this odd situation?

Theres nothing to give Storey the benefit of doubt over. He has breached the sponsorship contract as there is no performance exit clause.

If he doesn't want Rich Energy to appear on the cars anymore, thats fine, but he still needs to pay what he promised in the contract.

Apparently the board at RE is trying to oust him and claim the partnership with Haas is not nor will not be terminated.

Most enigmatic sponsor since Chavez?

They probably want to rescue the deal so they don't have to pay out all the money as asked for. Which seems sensible unlike storey and his throw the toys out of the pram methods.

He does seem to be massively clueless if he genuinely thought just by a bit of showmanship and aggressive advertising overnight rich energy would overtake Red bull or that Haas would be better than Red bulls cars ....

If this is true, I wonder what this means for the livery/sponsor name on the car and all their kit. How quickly will it change, if it changes. Good thing the team didn't have Rich Energy as the title sponsor.

What a cock-up.

You know, just saying like, but if Alonso wanted to get back into F1, he could bring some of his mates in and do a lot worse than the bare bones they have in place here.
His backers and his Ferrari good will and this could be a upper mid team by next year. If he wanted to drive...

So Lighting Volt is now the official name of ex Rich Energy. The beard guy is gone :D that is good. Hope they can turn this company around and come up with a better logo and color scheme.
