Just a theory here…but remember in the hey-day of RedBull and Vettel --especially in quail mode? The rear of the car was anchored to the tarmac. Lewis would comment on it constantly. I am wondering if Ferrari are making a big, big push this year for Vettel in this car to absolutely plant the rear end and give him car confidence similar to what he had back in the RedBull days? Just a theory for why the shift to shrink the top of the car, and open a larger path to the rear wing for better overall rear end stability.
They could've done that with shrinking the sidepods as well, and even better since that would've come with less drag penalty. This seems like a push for better CoG over aero.

Amazing how people think the Ferrari design is underwhelming as it more simple and less cluttered in sidepod /bargeboard area compared to others.

All cars will turn up with changes by Monday testing and even more so by Melbourne.

I think the Ferrari design is impressively clean. Much improved packaging around engine.

We will only know come Melbourne the true picture.

You know that they all have bigger rear wings by the rules right? So all teams have more drag by rear wings, not just Ferrari...

The RW is taller & wider and the DRS opening is more pronounced; however you can still run a low AoA if you have more DF from diffuser.

Still wonder if my theory is correct. It will be interesting how the car behaves in testing and if its tending loose out of the box or tight and planted. Looking forward to finding out. I like it this car is an evolution rather than a revolution. Hope we have a real three or four teams (dare to dream) contending this year.

Well, talk about being quick and reliable out the box....

Vettel is usually very reserved but he was a bit excited in the press today!

Early days I know, but a very good day for Ferrari.

Good to see the team getting straight down to business and seemingly everything working well right out of the box.

Smart decision since they have to make up for today and yesterday.

This gives Vettel one day for regeneration after crash...

I hope Ferrari gives Leclerk equal chance as Vettel.

I would assume the driver doing the last session would get the most leeway to push, as there is the least to loose in the event of a mishap then.
