Ferrari is bringing the spec 2 PU and new oil this weekend already. One might think it's a big step since otherwise it's not really worth it given that one PU has to complete 7 weekends.
Can we assume that Ferrari is going to use 4 power units this season? As I cannot imagine that 2 power units will be enough for 17 races left.

At some point they'll introduce spec 3, maybe in Spa? which would mean that spec 2 has to do a longer ''stint''. Ofc they'll be using spec 1 in FP. I think they can still make it with 3 PUs. Last year Kimi used only 2 PUs from Spain onwards.

I would think the Nr. 1 PU will be used in next time in Monaco, and in Hungary, at the least, unless the new one is also much better with cooling.

I forgot about Kimi’s situation last year. That’s true.
Though, I don’t think that introducing a spec 4 and thus having the luxury of being able to push more would be a bad decision.

I just hope they figured out to light up the tyres and optimize the performance window

If you can't get on top of the tyres at Barca you won't do it anywhere. All the teams that have been struggling with tyres, Ferrari, HAAS, Torro Rosso, should go better here. If they don't they may as well write the season off.

Ferrari only taking new ICEs, rather interesting.

Did they change the plan or was this their aim from the beginning? So no new whole PU, but just ICE and new lubrication?

Now we're not even winning in free practice. Snooze fest in prospect.

It is maybe early to call but it seems that it is almost game over for Ferrari against Mercedes...

Flavio braitore is damn right , ferrari has been 2nd best team for a decade now. if i am lewis hamilton i will never think of going to ferrari.
if we want to enjoy f1 a little then mercedes has to pull the plug on F1. i have lost faith in ferrari's abilities to win championships in F1 again. even toto can drive that mercedes and win the race. i thought last year leadership was bad but this year leadership is at "another" level. binotto might looks genius in those glasses but to me he appears to be dumbfounded.

Why should he go to a lesser team? Ferrari is starting to slip even behind RB now and it seems they hold advantage over RB only in qualy pace. Seeing how Honda has been making massive improvements it's unlikely it will stay that way much longer. You can't earn points on past glory... Mercedes is a team to beat, and Ferrari has money, loads and loads of money, sponsor, partners. Just make a better car and beat them. It's not Mercs fault that they've become incompetent.
