Do we know why Leclerc lifted off before the finish line on his pole lap? He lost some time there.

Ferrari made a car to win at Monza, and they won at Monza. Rest of the season is a write-off but at least we won Monza. Yaaay.

What I found interesting is that Leclerc didn't seem to have problems regarding fuel consumption. Probably the whole race in the highest engine setting on the track with the highest time spend on full throttle. Maybe that spec 3 engine sorted that out.
Also that straight line speed was crazy as fast as a Merc with DRS and slipstream.

timing graphic is wrong. lap ends just before he lifts.

Slippiest car on the grid with supposed fuel consumption problems? Unlikely. Monza is not a fuel heavy track anyway.

Gotta check everything out, but i think that was just on one occasion when merc was completely out of charge, which happens when you're throwing everything at the guy in front lap after lap. On normal running i think merc reached 340-345 kph in DRS and slipstream, ferrari was doind 320-330 with no drs or slipstream, which is still pretty good.

Yes that makes sense, I just remembered one time they showed both speeds on the live feed.

Mick Schumacher obviously :wtf:
Though I still think that Vettel will race for Ferrari next year.

I would go on a limbo and say this. Ferrari should throw some money and get Russell into Ferrari. Leclerc has clearly proven that, despite inexperience, having talent and right approach should be enough to move ahead of a four time champion. So in that sense, Russell is more of Leclerc type and should be a good fit in the team.

Clearly, Austria experience has made Leclerc a much better driver! He is punchy now, which is good to see.

Vettel is now on 9 penalty points. I don't know when he will lose some.

Better to replace Vettel with Alonso to win wdc and wcc.

Vettel lost his touch. He is not interested in driving ferrari for whatever reason.

The car is built for Monza so I am not surprised to see ferrari win here. for Vettel, what to say... better leave ferrari.

Leclerc he is good where the care is good on the track. If the car is not suitable for a track, he is not performing. Take an example, monoco, AZERBAIJAN etc...

If Ferrari want to Win WDC and WCC, you need a all rounder driver.

It is better to bring back Alonso.

Leclerc was the fastest driver in Baku, until he made that crucial mistake in Q2. Otherwise, he was poised to win that one. Monaco, it was the team that screwed him in qualifying, where once again he looked stronger. Would he have beaten Lewis, can't guarantee, but a podium was certainly possible with his speed.

I like Alonso a lot. But any driver in a Ferrari, to beat Lewis and Mercedes combination is really tall order, even if the cars are equal. Even if Alonso comes back, he could fight at best, but it's not a certainty that he can beat the Lewis/Mercedes combo. Unless, Ferrari manages to build a car that is more than 3 tenths faster than Mercedes ON ALL CIRCUITS! If they do build a car like that, then Leclerc can do the job and it is not necessary to have Alonso!

The rate at which Leclerc is improving, I don't think Ferrari would look beyond him for a team leader. I would be happy to see Alonso back at Ferrari, but practically speaking, that is NOT going to happen.
