What do you think so far in today's qualification? How come the Torro Rosso is that quick here?

Not bad. It’s s3 where we give a few tenths away. Get that sector sorted and we are best of the rest

So far this year it seems that the S3 part of every GP is the one that costs us a lot of time.

They've been quick for most of the season, this just suits their car here.

Good lap from Lando there, will do well to end around that spot. Really close in the midfield, although Gasly has the edge over it.

Could we try a tow to gain a tenth or two?

In any case Mclaren should keep up the good work and keep developing the car targeting the first place despite where they may end up this year.

Again 0.25s lost in s3. It’s where we lose the lap. Still decent quali.

I have a feeling that we are experimenting this year with next years aerodynamics because of the token rule bs from the FIA and it's costing us so far.

That flipping Ricanult #-o
We have loads of work to finish the season strongly
I was downbeat after Portimao because we didn’t capitalise on others misfortune in the race and we didn’t pick up as many points as I expected.
I’m even more downbeat after quali, on pure performance we are gradually slipping back every race.

Starting 9,10 is bad news with Checo and Ocon behind with fresh rubber. AT, especially Gasly is other worldly these past few races. They did test and do a filming day here I think, so they got more data than anyone else. We need a good start, stay out of trouble and hopefully manage the softs better than in Portugal.
Q: (Stefano Mancini – La Stampa) Kimi, will you help Vettel to win his championship this year?
Kimi Raikkonen: I can only drive one car, obviously.

To be fair just heard over the team radio that Lando wasn’t happy with his lap #-o

It seems both cars went back to the “old” barge boards and front wings

The way I remember it was everyone agreed to a freeze for 2021 and a postponement of the then new 2021 regs to 2022 to save costs. Then McLaren said they were going ahead with the PU change, someone else said they had a cooling issue they needed to fix and poof the token rule was born. It allows some changes but limit teams from bankrupting themselves and still being competitive. So it wasn't a FIA initiated thing. They were just brought in to do what they do, regulate F1
