Will they rename the team to something like, Petronas Mercedes Ineos Wolff Racing?
I'd expect to see the possibilit that Petronas might actually take a step back in their sponsoring,
with F1 aiming to step into 'fully synthetic' fuels. Perhaps i'm very wrong here, and it's an opportunity,
but i think Petronas and Mercedes have achieved quite a lot in the past years, and there might be a point where - and perhaps that point has already been reached - Petronas simply says 'yeah, we're not going to keep investing that much anymore' and henceworth INEOS has a stake to cover in the team.
After all, INEOS IS a chemical company, who 'specializes' in the oil industry, but in sustainability.
INEOS Europe has today received a gold sustainability score from EcoVadis, the world’s most trusted provider of business sustainability ratings. The overall rating puts INEOS into the top 4 percent of companies in the sector demonstrating an advanced management system for environmental issues, ethics, labour and human rights, and sustainable procurement.
Most of our employees have spent all their working lives in the chemical or oil industry. We continue unashamedly to extract best practices from this very impressive group of people in all spheres of activity. We believe INEOS is a refreshing place to work and we are prepared to embrace new approaches to business.
Efficient and effective biofuels to improve the sustainability of modern transport
Synthetic oils that help to reduce greenhouse gas emissions from road transportation
I honestly think INEOS is going to 'take over' petronas part in the future, and as such,
AMG Petronas Mercedes F1 team will more likely simply become
"INEOS Mercedes AMG F1 Team"
