What a missed opportunity! I was like don't pit don't pit and then suddenly Hamilton's tyre blows... Talk about being on the edge of your seat... If only this happened a bit earlier, it could have reset the entire championship.

When you cannot win on sheer performance, I guess it's not too wrong to hope for a bit of luck :)

Even with punctures, Merc is still winning. That's humillating, all luck always to the same... Anyway, at least good points. And for those moaning about the PU power, what about Gasly overtaking Stroll with same tyre life?? That tells the PU is not the problem with RBR

Redbull could have won first race and silverstone they need a bit of luck when they saw Mercedes suffering with tires they should have been there to exploit it

What happened today though does give a glimpse of hope for next race. It's clear that Mercedes are loading their front tyres more than the Red Bull, and with next race's tyres being one step softer, you know Mercedes will be more cautious with tyre management. A 2 stop strategy will probably be required, making strategy a major factor in the race. Red Bull need to make sure to get their's perfect and they might be on a good result.

I bet all my money that Pirelli will go for a harder option next week, like other times helping who?? Don't need to say more

That Honda looked fine today, Japan should work on the one-lap power for Q and 1st lap.

Again LeClerc and Sainz were all over Verstappen that first lap.

That was Because Bottas pulled out of the fight with Hamilton and Max got stuck Behind him. Max kept him and himself alive. That is the matured Max.

Does next race have the same tire availability or different compounds?

Going one step softer. I hope they DO NOT change the allocation and force people to two-stop instead

On theory it's a softer selection than today. But we will see

Its because Max try to overtake Bottas and Bottas blocked his way.

There's weather reports that we have a heatwave here in Belgium (which is not that far) starting next Wednesday. So that might carry onto next weekend.

And in Spain we have it too. For the Barcelona race hot will be a major factor, reaching 35° all weekend

However, it turned out to be a necessary stop, says team boss Christian Horner immediately after the race. According to the Brit, there were small cuts in the tires of Verstappen that were removed from the car, so it had not been certain that the Limburger would be able to finish the race. "Disappointing to miss out on a win, but I think we would have signed up for this in advance."

I look forward to next week race weather forecast predict 30 degrees air temperatures track temp would be scorching.maybe Mercedes still have cooling issues Rbr thinks they would be slower maybe due to tires.
