So is it really RedBull or bust for Albon?

Forget your personal opinions of Albon as a PILOT. Try and read the tea leaves of RBR positioning on him. RBR either think Albon is better than Gasley or they do not. By keeping Albon at RBR, it suggests they think he's better than Gasley.
It's not as simple as Albon being better than Gasly. Gasly had disagreements with RBR management and engineering staff, so that's why they are not keen to have him back at RBR in the first instance.

As for Albon, it's not like other Formula One teams are lining up to sign him!
My Guess is, either they have no intension of hiring Perez or they do and they'll give that 2nd seat at SAT to him.
A line-up of Verstappen/Hulkenberg and Gasly/Perez would be very strong for the Red Bull teams! =D>

If Perez were to drive a Red Bull you can already picture Perez refusing to giveway, defending hard and then Perez and Verstappen coming together (who is technically at fault doesn't matter, Verstappen is the Golden Child Mk2 after all :) ) and Red Bull management would not be at all pleased about that!

Hulkenberg is far more likely to be compliant and leap out of Verstappen's way, hence why Hulkenberg may be the better pick for the Milton Keynes team with Perez's consistency being more valuable to AlphaTauri.

It seems to me that Albon has a half more season for 2021 to keep his seat

Even if I don't like the guy, I prefer to have a Sergio Perez on that seat than Albon, I will put Albon on testing and simulation work so he can learn and hone his skills.

RBR needs a driver that brings consistency and the team can create a race strategy having 2 drivers not only one like is the case right now, and I think Perez can bring that consistency and support that team effort.

When listening to the radio in FP2 I get this kind of vibe from Verstappen.

IMHO Pérez won't be good for RBR. He usually don't accept team orders... Better Hulk than him

perez can deliver results. hulk haven't achived any podiums in his f1 career. i never understood why people even consider hulk, until perez is available.

And also can deliver a big 0 like him and Ocon did several times on Force India. He's good, but maybe not so kind on accepting a clear 2nd driver role

Di Resta said it on Sky. Not that it makes it any more credible, just pointing out the source.

It doesn't even matter. Albon is out, thats for sure. I honestly feel sorry for him and i think he deserves a f1 seat, but not a seat next to Max. Max really needs a faster or someone who can handle the RBR16 as a teammate.
