Honda said it was electrical problems. So maybe you're right with rushing upgrades and a new spec. Hopefully next week at least will be troublefree. Not asking to beat Merc because it's not possible righr now
If the problems came from a new spec, how do you explain that SAT had no problem with a new spec? They drove the same spec Honda engine.
Let's first see where the issue came from. Maybe it was the engine mapping, it seemed to happen when max switched them. Probably some unfortunate soul forgot a ; in the software ;)
it must be more then it. maybe missing an exception 😋

Yeah, lets face it, championship is over. Red Bull wanted to make Max the youngest champion and that will not happen. Now maybe they get a win here and there. Worried about 2021 because of the tokens.
True GOATs don’t need the help of superior material to win.

Tom Brady, Usain Bolt are true GOATs.

Mercedes worked on high altitude performance and Honda worked for low altitude performance. I wonder how things will go at other tracks.
I still see possibility of winning next race here after fine tune of whole package

The car is good, better than last year, but Mercedes once again have the perfect tool.

I'm confident that RB will win races, espacially with Ferrari out of the picture

It is good that Bottas is in the fight, so the points are distributed more

I don't think so. He starts fast and then left everything to Hamilton.
I also sure Redbull didn't go backward just need to correct somethings and understand updates. After that they are close enough to fight with Mercedes I believe

It's hard to judge the race pace this early but after the first lap Max lost 1.3 seconds to Bottas in 9 laps so it averages around 0.15s deficit per lap which isn't that bad.

On harder tires. So that would indicate a very fair pace by Max. Lewis did close in on Albon pretty quickly though.

I do not think this number is of any use. Bottas was clearly driving to a target from lap 2. He easily opened a 2sec gap in the first lap and later on Ham was easily 0.3sec faster. If we look at Albons car it was even worse...after overtaking Albon Ham opened 12 sec gap in 15 laps. Then after the first SC he opened a 10sec gap in 20 laps.
Even if Ves is 0.3sec faster per lap than Albon in a race (a bit unrealistic?), than he would still end up 15sec behind the Mercs in a race without SC....on one of RedBulls prime circuits.

I think race pace of Verstappen was not bad. If he was slower .15 than bottas with slower compound. Everytime Mercedes stats season more mature and every year bottas starts very fast. last season's first race bottas was miles away and ham is a few seconds. This year without sc we could see at least same. I am not saying Redbull at same level with Mercedes but not much behind them. Only problem is length of season.

You dont need a cristall ball for this. Look at this:

it is both engine and chassis that Red Bull is getting murdered by Mercedes. And that while from now on engines are basically frozen until 2026 with only small changes allowed (none in 2020 apart from 1 K and control electronics) and chassis development is also severly limited until the end of 2021.

This is game over and an other 2 easy titles for Hamilton. Making it 3 actually fought over titles (2008, 2014 and 2015 titles) and 5 easy titles (2017 onwards).

It's not like Mercedes is invincible. They will probably have the same issues next race with the same drivetrain. With Ham only placing 4th the wdc is still not out of reach. Since it's not weather related and has to do with riding the curbs, the track will still pose a threat to MB. Honda will need to compare data between RB and STR to find where the electrical issues are stemming from. STR has had one more year of integration so perhaps there is something to learn from the sister team. It would also be nice to have STR stronger up the midfield to fend off the mcl and RPs.

Will be interesting to see if Honda concludes that the electrical failures were kerb related and how that impacts RBR's approach for next weekend
