I have a small feeling that Ferrari is slightly ahead of the rest in terms of the development of their car for 2022. Ofc, I can be wrong :D According to the media, Leclerc tried the car simulator in July, and Norris - in October, have not heard of other teams yet. Mercedes and Red Bull have tough title fight... It is possible that others are at the same level, but it just doesn't seep into the media. 8)
Fingers crossed. It seems like everything they've been doing on and off the track regarding sim work, the new ERS, setting up the new sim, testing with the SF71, etc is directed towards 2022 and beyond.

You're right on the point that we haven't heard nearly as much from the other teams about next year.

Wondering why we hear development stories only abt Ferrari, not other teams.
I am sure other teams also working on innovative solns but we don't hear anything.
I guess Italian media is very hungry about Ferrari and getting more information from the insider due to close network..

This is how it's always been though, Ferrari is way bigger and has a lot more fans than the other teams so it has more insider info and leaks. I agree with you there, we only hear stuff from Ferrari so it's easy to think everyone else is asleep but it would be naive to think that

I think the team is just much more open under this management. I think it keeps the fanbase and the whole team motivated. But I also feel it has to do with the future prospects as well. With all the bad press they've had over the last couple of years, all the positive and optimistic news is good for current and future sponsors, as well as their engine clients.

Interesting read
I can’t speak for you, but I know I follow every obscure Ferrari blog, every twitter person who may post Ferrari related content, read message boards, etc, because I’m interested to know more about Ferrari.

I actually think the same info is generally available about the other teams, but I for one am just not looking for it. For example, looking in the Mercedes and redbull threads here, there are sketchy assessments of 2022 there too - just the same as here. I’ve seen glimpses about redbull and Mclaren’s 2022 projects on twitter.

It’s there if you look for it, I’m just generally only looking for Ferrari content.

New Livery?

Did this come to anything yet?
Favourite driver: Lando Norris
Favourite team: McLaren

Turned down the chance to meet Vettel at Silverstone in 2007. He was a test driver at the time and I didn't think it was worth queuing!! 🤦🏻‍♂️

Yes (or no, depending on how you look at it). They simply put the number '24' instead of '16' as a Happy 24th Birthday to Charles. Literally... that's it.

As for my hopes for 2022... I'm keeping my feet well and truly buried in the ground until we see the car lapping testing. Definitely its positive to hear happier statements been made by the team recently, particularly with the Power Unit side of things, but cautious optimism it is more me until then!

At least the last time we had a bit of a shake-up in the rules (from 2016 to 2017), Ferrari finally brought a bit of a fight to Mercedes...

Yeah but that 2016 livery was something I'd rather forget about 🙈🙈😂😂

Confirmed changes to ERS

That Ferrari was doing as well as they were with an clearly inferior ERS to the competition(even Renault was running 800V already) is interesting. Hopefully the 2022 PU is up to par.

Also shows just how badly the SF1000 came together. There was no hope for that car on any front.

It isn't a practice session if one of the drivers doesn't spin.
