Daniels performance awful again. Lost year with this driver.

Ferrari are a lot faster but not only them.

One Ferrari is out but we are struggling on Hungaroring. Perhaps we might show something more in Q3 but both drivers are struggling compared to the midfield competition today. It's strange. It's like the set up is not where it should be.

More time to find in s3 for NOR.
Gust of wind threw the car out of balance (perhaps similar to SAI?)

Shame we are burning through another set but quali is mega important now especially with SAI now out.

Damage limitation for RIC. He is still 0.4s off NOR come quali.

Lando and Daniel’s Qualifying plot… Lando brakes later and carries more speed than Daniel

You can't tell who brakes later from that. you can see that Ric is on the brakes longer or on the gas later. Yes Norris does carry more speed in the last 3 corners.
I have the braking plots too (can’t share those though and you can tell who brakes earlier)

He only used one set in Q1, so he has 2 sets for Q2 and 2 for Q3… Lando is ok… Daniel is the one that will only have 1 set in Q3 (if he makes it)

Feeling sorry for Carlos… He was really fast this weekend and was expecting him to be the one leading the midfield

It's what most here say. This track that is like Monaco hits hard on Mclaren's weaknesses. I would say damage limitation and the good thing is that Spa, Zadvoort and Monza are speed tracks with more high speed than low speed corners which will suit the car.

I agree that Hungary is a matter of “damage limitation” for the team… It hasn’t been a good track for Mclaren in the last few years… I don’t think that it is a Monaco track, but you need a lot of slow corner grip that unluckily the MCL35M lacks.

Ricciardo shouldnt go out again in Q2 imo - he should be 11 or 12th worse

(ho hum, 11th anyways, but that'll do him well I think)

P11 is maybe the best spot RIC could reach today.

That is actually the perfect result even though it may not seem it. Still 0.5s down on NOR. Without the error bouncing over the curb he’d been 0.3s off

Anything to play for starting on the MED tomorrow. But in the midfield melee….

Did leclerc go on softs at the end there? Would be nice if he didn't have a tire advantage in terms of strategy tomorrow.

Lando shown pace again but my eyes are hurting from Daniel. I hope it's an one time thing and Daniel can make me eat my own words but I really want Fernando Alonso for next year. Maybe Daniel has some tyre advantage strategy but I really don't like seeing him struggle against teams that we should be beating.
