We clearly saw the difference between active and reactive approach to the race. RIC was defending whole race, and look where HAM is. I just hope he'll raise the bar for the next year, as I'm sooo p***Ed with him from the season start...
What part of damaged car are you not understanding? He doesn't have the tools beneath him to do anything proactive.

The Rear floor damage must have absolutely destroyed his tyres + following Russell for so many laps.

This strategy was wrong, VER is 5 sec/lap faster.
It was a mistake not to change to mediums when Verstappen did. Even with damage, Ric would have been a lot faster. Even if he was behind Mick. We had nothing to lose.

Never would have guessed Renault would be the first to win again before McLaren. Let's just hope when McLaren wins again, they win on pace and not because you get half the field removed in lap 1.

I’m a bit sad. Gasly, Ocon have won a grand prix however Norris is better driver and he deserves the win better...

So, VER missing half of the car actually allowed him to pass RIC

That was an incredibly poorly executed race by Mclaren.
I’m not gonna slam Ric but he wasn’t helped by the team there
Just a fan's point of view

It's ironic. McLaren who has done all the hard work getting here haven't gotten a win yet and others get poles and wins handed on a silver platter. On another note fantastic defence from Fernando Alonso. Shows who is still the best driver of the last 15 years.

It’s part of F1… The team is bound to have a bad weekend during the season… Really unlucky for it to happen in this race, but at the same time is probably one of the races where we didn’t expect to be very high up the order based on the track’s characteristics.

But, like everything in F1… Luck balances itself out through the season, we have had our fair share of good luck and bad luck… The overall outcome of the first half of the season is still positive and that’s what matters, the car has pace, it can fight on it’s own for P3 and that’s the goal at the end of the season.

We can all think about what could have been, but the “what ifs” don’t give us points unluckily

Help him with what man really. Daniel is already struggling this season as it is. Add to that the damage in the floor and you got a race car that was probably barely going faster than Williams today.

The real loss for the team here was Bottas going full kowabunga into the first corner and taking Lando out.
That's where the race went from almost too perfect to a complete disaster.

I support Alonso as a driver, so at least for me there was a silver lining watching him battle with Hamilton. But other than that, this race was atrocious as a McLaren fan.

What could have been ...

Much faster car, plus Verstappen had pitted for fresh tyres.
