According to Gazzetta Williams will switch to Alpine PU’s for 2022 and effectively be a sister team. This benefits both teams if it’s true and gives Williams better footing working more closely with a manufacturer and access to Alpines young talent pool.
I still find this story hard to believe, as Williams categorically signed to use Mercedes gearboxes and hydraulics for 2022 with official statements made. This story seems far more like the stories surrounding why Hamilton hadn't signed this year's contact. All speculation and guesswork with no solid facts.
Sure it would make some sense for Williams to get into bed with Renault/Alpine F1 but at the same time it doesn't.
Happy to be proven wrong, but right now the official signing to use Mercedes boxes and hydraulics in 2022 vs Renault/Alpine F1 unfounded rumour leads me to believe we will be staying with Mercedes for the next few years.
I received an unsolicited approach at work a couple of days ago from a New York firm offering co-investment opportunities in an F1 team. I wonder if this is Williams out on the fund raising trail? If so they are doing it in a pretty naive/desperate way!
Best 2021 livery so far- (even if it is just concept) i dont think anyone will beat alfa’s launch... unless Alpine can get Daft punk to get back together and DJ the launch..

Also hope for Alfa Romeo to end the Ferrari partnership and be a true Sellantis representative on the grid with a RBP engine and parts (finally a Honda engine at Hinwil).
Because of the crazy cash you need to setup a new team and buy a race liscence into the f1 circus the logical step is to join with another to get a Partnership. Williams have great history with Renault and ‘the’ best livery of all time.. it could work and bring sponsors.. i think the reason to change must reflect the fact that Aston have formed that ‘B’ team status with merc, so williams would always be the ‘unloved’ ugly sister to the other two.. why not throw your lot in with Alpine who have good facilities and engine.. williams can still build a good chassis.. together i think it could work for Both...
economies of sale could help alpine..
lets be honest being Merc customer hasnt exactly been great the last few years.. being a merc ‘customer’ means you’ll always be 1 year behind forever..
Maybe with Alpine they can co-develop the cars.. pooling resources and talent

I actualy think that the car on the picture is a model of a FW43B. It has a unique front wing for a Williams, a 2021 floor, connected upper and side luvre of the sidepods (like Mercedes, not seen on fw43 but seen on earyl FW42 just like the small wing on the crash structure), and a unique rear wing end plate, with a small winglet on the outer side of it in front and above the main profile.
