Carbon Rotor/Disk bobbin suppliers?

All that has to do with the power train, gearbox, clutch, fuels and lubricants, etc. Generally the mechanical side of Formula One.

Carbon Rotor/Disk bobbin suppliers?

Post

Hello.
Received a discarded F1 carbon rotor and titanium hat. Would like to find a UK supplier that would have the correct application brake bobbins for an F1 application. Does anyone know any UK based brake suppliers that would carry those items and/or is this such specialized application that teams have titanium bobbin's manufactured for their specific purpose? I called around the US, but no such luck.

If the disk/hat bobbin's are not a one-off type item, was hoping to find a UK supplier and purchase a set
Sure its a wall hanger/F1 piece of art, but wanted to accurately display the kit.

You'll probably have to get your own hat bushings machined. Each titanium hat bushing will likely cost you $50 or more. Here are AP's guidelines for mounting CRC brake discs: http://www.apracing.com/drawings/CP2872_1000CD.pdf

If you want to be authentic, you'll also need to purchase a set of aircraft quality titanium or inconel bolts and locknuts. This will probably set you back around $20 per bolt or locknut.

Good luck to you.

The bell you have there is from a 2009 Brawn GP car, I deal in used F1 parts http://stores.ebay.co.uk/Ledon-Racing-S ... 7675.l2563 and have some titanium brake bobbins available that will fit that bell (I've just checked as I also have one at the moment), the bobbins I have are from an earlier version of the Brawn car (a RA106 Honda), but the design hasn't changed much between the cars.
