One of the benefits of GtL is that it has none of the nasty stuff. I'm not sure whether GtL petrol is widely available but Shell certainly sell GtL diesel in the UK as a premium product. One downside of GtL is that it has a lower density which might not be good on a race car as the tank would need to be bigger, for example. However, as the available energy is higher per kg (higher mass calorific value) it's useful in a formula that sets the fuel limit in kg... :wink:
If you are more fortunate than others, build a larger table not a taller fence.

GtL(or CtL) has a history eg the Fischer-Tropf process
the WW2 Allied reports on German GtL Avgas can be found starting here

(how/whether very high octane fuel from GTL was viable, they adding less TEL than the Allies did iirc)
