Good looking Daytona Prototype!

Post

I'm well impressed with the look of this new Daytona Prototype:-

Image

In my opinion much better than the "F1 with fenders" look of the current LMP1 cars....

That looks better than the current breed of LMP1 cars.

Anyone got a link to the full daytona prototype rules? I can only find summaries on the Grand-Am website....

Actually it's pretty nice, they should go that way for all the other too.

There are cars on the street with better aero than this.

These cars are required to be ugly and primitive per the rule set. What do you expect from a series owned and run by NASCAR. They just went to throttle body FI in their premier serious and they are bragging about it.

The current/old cars look rubbish... but this "new for 2012" looks pretty neat IMO... They've sorted out the "greenhouse" dimensions, and sorted out the front end too to give it a "GT" look ... reminds me of the old GT1 cars... I think I'm right in saying that there's a team running Porsch engines... really looking forward to what their car might look like -the original 911GT1 (not the Evo) was a sweet looking GT car:-

I can't hide the fact I like my sportscars to look like sportscars.... and that I'm a big fan of the new corvette Daytona Prototype styling... so I just thought I'd have a go at doing some front end treatments to show what an Audi, Peugeot and Mercedes Daytona Prototype might look like (if the AcO saw sense and brought beauty back to Le Mans!):-

I was sooo glad to see these cars, I liked watching daytona but I have hated the cars for years.
These new cars do look great, and look like sports cars.

Just awesome.
