Yeah! Yeee Haaa.. good ol' boy Dale, ( bet he had a rebel flag emblazoned on his car 'Duke boys' style).

& damn Dorna/FIM for killing 2T's - even Freddy Spencer in his prime - couldn't get his fat 4T Honda,
200 miles down the track quicker than the Roberts/Carruthers Yamaha 'special'!

No doubt in my mind, that'd be the case today too, if them bad ol' smokers weren't banned..
Well thats the thing, they didnt smoke much at all (less than the F1 ferraris) and they dont have to smoke at all.
those bikes with the daytona gearing were quick.

Dani Pedrosa will try to race in the Grand Prix of the Americas in Austin, Texas, this weekend after undergoing wrist surgery only last week.

Poor wee Dani - he really is a fragile little guy, so lets hope - he does not make it, even worse..

Agree, only disagree with the Senna-Prost (Monaco 88) comparison, as Senna didn´t have anything else to earn (he was leading) so that was absurd and arrogant, while Marquez had a lot of points to earn as he only was 6th before passing Rossi, so even when he was way too agitated there was a reason to keep pushing

Only that he went beyond the limit so deserved the penalties, but it was not arrogant, he was doing his job, went too aggresive causing Rossi´s crash and received a penalty, case closed :)

Finally got to see the whole race and I must say that was some of the most unsportsman like races I have ever seen.
I feel that he should have had at least two black flags. A 30 second penalty for the move on Rossi hardly squares what he did.
I'm sure others will disagree and to be sure they are entitled to their opinion as am I.

IMO Johnny, the writer of that article cannot 'see the timber for the trees', & simply misses the point..

1stly with comparing Cal being upstaged as winner by race (show) dramas, with Phillis/Honda & Degner/MZ,
since in fact, both Cal & Tom P - only won by default - had M.M. not been given a ride-through penalty,
(IMO, due to poor officiating by race control, 'dumb & dumber'!) there'd be no drama, & an M.M. win.

Similarly, Degner did a double dirty on MZ back in the day, selling out a very probable 1st MZ G.P. crown,
- along with their advanced 2T tech..

& the article basically ignores the fact - that 'race direction' essentially set up M.M. - to let rip, & rampage
through the field of tippy-toed riders - like a clockwork tin-toy, wound up to fully-keyed, & set loose..

Yes, all true, partic "dumb and dumber"
double edged sword with Degner, haute cuisine bribery but world probably benefited from it.

Notice Danny got 10th in FP2

A bit of a Euro-style Gobert-lite perhaps, less natural talent/arrogance, & less hell-bent, ripshit &/or bust..
