How did car #8 ended up 37 seconds behind car #7 before #8 was hit with 60 seconds stop and go? I slept and missed it.
They got unlucky with a slow zone and lost 35 seconds. Not going the number 8's way so far at all but long way to go.

So no win for Alonso then? Good. I dont want him to win off other people's backs.

Yeah. Two other people driving 2/3 of the race for him. So lazy.

All drivers win off other people's backs.

Let the conspiracy theories begin. Toyota #8 (Nakajima)5 seconds a lap faster than #7 (Lopez)!

Lopez surely didn't seem quick during the night time, and that was long shift for him, Kobayashi seems better however.

Hopefully Porsche keeps it safe in the GTs.

Number 8 takes the lead. Overturned a 2 and a bit minute lead. =D>

Just the 8 and a half hours to go now...

Yes, the #7 is very slow again.

If I see ti correctly, every class leader has lapped P2 in his class at leas once at the moment.

I watched it live and the replay onboard from lotterer shows the contact much clearer than the other vid.
Lotterer said there was no contact. The front end was not mounted correctly, thus dropped down before the corner which led the car to slide uncontrollably. I think this picture confirms it:

He hit the back oof the Toyota, take a look at the onboard, around 1:20

Might just be close or a slight tap that Lotterer did not even really realize? On sec 22 in the video you can see the front already being on the ground before maybe touching the Toyota.

so for the first time alonso struck gold in his team selection....any other year he wouldnot have won it....practically no competition this year

It was a slight tap but he does the damage in the tap, look at the vid i linked to specifically at 1:24 it shows the hit. Before the tap the rhs has no crack in the red section but it immediately breaks and starts to move around.

Anyway, with 3hrs left it looks like Toyota have managed to do as expected and so Fernando just needs a season in Indy to try for the Indy 500 so this maybe the end of his Mclaren drive.
