Corvette Racing: The end is near?

Post

With the recent announcement that Pratt & Miller has been sold to Oshkosh Corp. for $115 million there is reason to believe that the Corvette Racing program could be doomed despite the new buyers saying the Motorsports program is unaffected. Prior to that, Doug Fehan the Corvette Racing Program Manager stepped down. Corvette Racing has eight class wins at Le Mans, twelve wins at Sebring , three at the Rolex 24 hrs Daytona (including 1 over-all win in 2001) and eight wins at the petit Le Mans.

uhm... why would you buy a company and then say goodbye to your biggest client?

Strategy. Oshkosh will select the engineers and technology they need to land government contracts. Oshkosh are vultures. They are in it for themselves. They wont invest anymore in the racing program and get rid of it once the government funds dry up.
