How'd they allow him to go out with the wheel not on? You'd think they'd be on the radio. Very negligent of the team

Alonso must pick the worst time to leave teams. Mclaren looking good right now.

The phrase ‘poor career choices’ in future will simply have a photo of fernando Alonso next to it.

Back markers kinda ruined the last lap, but was good fight in the last 20 laps.

a number of cars suffered from brake problems today. We saw a whole bunch of drivers locking up at the entrance to pit road. Stefan Wilson alluded to "knock off" in an interview, which implies braking issues, after he rotated entering pit road and hit the wall. Ryan Hunter Ray was unable to get his car slowed down, slid down pit lane, and then was hit with a speeding penalty that sent him out of convention. Felix Rosenquvist got a similar penalty. Then we had Will Power performing a 180 on pit road, and Simona ending up sideways and ultimately retiring.

I’d be curious if they actually were brake problems and not just drivers making errors. Remember, they run pretty low downforce packages at these tracks and the asymmetric set up means they are tricky under hard braking (ie: they are prone to looping).

Drivers are always going to blame the equipment in the media ;)

Good for Helio. I wasn’t a fan of his at his peak, but wanted him to win this once he ended up in the front mix.

Rahal’s incident... that was shades of Zanardi and Wilson’s incidents combined. Scary stuff and pit wall messed that up. Easily could have resulted in serious injuries or death with a crash like that (car going 90* to traffic).

I was a little worried that Helio had blown his load a little too early, but the cars ahead played into his favor.
That's oval racing at the end of the day, using slipstream to your advantage.

I am also wondering whether the Chevy engine is more thirsty than the Honda engine. Early in the race the chevy cars dictated the pace but were earlier with pit stops and nowhere in the end.

Just finished watching the race, one of the best I’ve seen in a long long time!

Brilliant to see one of my favourite drivers from the CART era win his 4th, And well deserved too. He played it like the matter he is.

VK seems to blame his 8th mostly on an untimely poor pitstop. Shame, would have liked to see how he would have done were he in the mix, although already before the last pitstops he seemed to be a bit too far back to really fight for the lead.
