Any comments about the shiny tyres?

Post

Does this effect anything, or just a different surface treatment due to the new chrome moulds?

I would assume tyre blanket interaction would be slightly different on a new set, but probably negligible.

Any other thoughts on the subject?

Just the surface finish from the moulds being plated.

Something I read from Pirelli said they used the chrome moulds because the tyre surface doesn't stick as much (which is why the surface appears shiny). I think the sticking to the moulds was actually tearing some of the softest compounds.

I actually like it because now you can instantly tell if it is a new or used set of tyres being bolted on.

Its probably mold release silicon based sprayed in before compression of rubber.

They usually heat the tires overnight anyways... so i assume this wont matter.
