Well probably you're mentioning the fact that Renault at the end of the San Marino GP were super quick. It's strange cause the Michelin tires work better in high temps.....but the air tempreture dropped 4º half an hour before the end of the race...though the track temp stayed constante.....could it have to do with the cooling system....combustion engines work better at lower temp....and they might have been over cooking the tires....and the lower temp helped them reduce slightly the tire temp, into a proper working condition. Another after the first stop the team might have looked at the tires and recalculated the tire pressure and changed if for the following pit stop....and in the final stint they were with ideal tire temp! There are too many parametres for us to analise....but we don't have the telemetry read outs....with them we could have an idea of what changed, but without them....we can only guess.

In a pure sporting basis, we must recall that Trulli had engine worries from the start and that Alonso, that was the faster of the two, just had free track ahead in the last stint...

I thought Renault only changed the rear tyres during their pit stop on at least one occasion ?
