any people using 800x600 resolution?

Post

hi,

just wondering are there any people here who are using a screen resolution of 800x600 or lower?

At the moment the design of new site currently is optimal for 1024x768 but looks quite "narrow" on lower resolutions. It does the job however, but still...

so my question: would that be a problem?

Thank god, nobody uses 800x600 anymore. Have you ever tried reading a 800x600 optimized site (autosport-atlas a year ago) on a 1800x1600 screen? I could fit four of those pages at a time on my screen back then. I did this with opera's tiled browing. Quite fun. That's like tabbed browsing on dope.
Hopefully within the next few years people realise that bigger resolution means more stuff on the screen and a resolution of at least 1280x1024 can become the standard. Amen.

Well, Tomba, I do not know how they do it, but it seems there is a way to find out what is the screen resolution of your customers using some sort of script. For example, take a look to: http://www.w3schools.com/browsers/browsers_stats.asp

I will ask to my webmaster buddies.

This is what they said:

http://www.statcounter.com/

I also found:

http://www.thefreecountry.com/scripthos ... tics.shtml

It seems both links can give you the resources you need to know our screen resolution and reach a conclusion about the layout. Anyway, your site is OK for me.
