I think this might be huge, where is there proper space to let someone past?
The massively long straights?
The straights are quite far apart for some areas, could see people lose a lot of time behind back markers
I really think they'll just pull to one side, it's a wide track, I really don't think it'll be too much of a problem. Qualifying might be a bit different though.

Yesterday they cleaned the circuit. Almost no wind is expected.

I wonder if they cleaned it to remove sand, or to remove a material that helped cure the asphalt faster.

I posted this paper a while back as it discussed a method of vastly decreasing the curing time of race track asphalt. However the track would need to be thoroughly cleaned before you could use it!

Imagine the championship getting decided due to track condition issues. I mean looking at last season, the championship was decided on a zero grip wet Turkish asphalt.

It sure will make this weekend even more challenging!

Why they didn't put the DRS zone before this corner is perplexing! Could've given Qatar T1 action again there with the banking.

I'm usually wrong about this sort of thing, but watching that video of a lap makes me thinks this is going to be a really boring race. Qualifying position and tyre management over any sort of on-track racing I suspect.
It'll be boring at the front, Hamilton is unstoppable there. But I think it will be a fun race otherwise. There are some very nice overtaking zones, apart from that 1st drs zone in the middle of the track before a high-speed corner, I really suspect they will change that - never seen such a thing in f1 where a drs zone is right before a high speed corner. the only issue really is the proximity of barriers and the higher number of corners, imagine smashing into those barriers then collecting cars behind, would be a harrowing sight. But let's wait and see.

Its weird because I'm pretty sure on the F1 game they decided to put it before this hairpin but then irl they decided to put it in a useless spot

When he transitioned from turn 19 to 20 he lifted, and I'm not sure why. Even in that thing I would think he would be flat out!

Aso, I could see F1 cars using some trail braking going through 15 & 16. They might really punish the front tires here!
