Mercedes W14 Speculation Thread

A place to discuss the characteristics of the cars in Formula One, both current as well as historical. Laptimes, driver worshipping and team chatter does not belong here.

In football (uk), this would be Lewis’ testimonial year and he would be expected to free-transfer to a lower league team!

What better place than Williams, which would be of great help to his buddy James!

Correct. Monocoque + engine + gearbox + the three screws to hold them together.
So, far less than what some teams claim (over 80.000 parts)

Now. To correct the rear ride height problems rumour has it that Mercedes has somehow found a way.... A way of using the wheel rim filled with a liquid metal (mercury?).. Like a generator...

They say a permanent magnet is hydroformed over the cake tin... This produces an electric field and an electric current, an electric power source that doesn't rely on the FIA regulated power systems. There is a thermo-magnetic material mind you, so it actually turns on with heat. Basically it makes electricty under braking. What is the power used for though?

This electrical current is fed inboard to another liquid metal, device... An actuator that counters the diving forces of the car. Thus making the aero platform extremely stable at the rear.

A secret weapon? We won't see it used in winter tesring that's for sure..... But it could hide up to one second of performance.

Ah the Mercury smoke! Again. I like the smell of it. I am sure even Mercedes would like it if they read it here. :D

A T-1000 advanced prototype, a mimetic polyalloy - liquid metal.

Toto is obviously Cyberdyne systems T-101.
