Was reviewing the financial statements of the UK-based teams released this week for the year 2023, and it’s quite amusing to see how much Toto and co. are outperforming the competition in this area
Mercedes made over £83 million in profit last year, while McLaren reported £12.9 million, and Red Bull managed a measly £1.2 million
Is the lack of profit for Mclaren and Red Bull due to their investment in new infrastructure?
May be. But I believe it is somewhat capped due to infrastructure investments being part of the F1 Budget cap.
I seem to recall an interview with Vowles (2023?) in which he explained that limitation for the current Williams' infrastructure investments.
(Williams had/has the money buts needs to spread the costs over several years. He asked FIA/the other teams for clarification, about counting such costs to the cap)
So, RBR's and McLaren's profits may be off, but not by much I would say.
80Mio$ profit for MGP ... are magnificent.
No chances for the driver championship, but 2nd in the constructors ... with these kind of profits!
