Lec himself said they do have a fix, but he decided not to take it in Monaco for some reasonmzso wrote: ↑07 Jun 2026, 18:06Kudos to Ferrari for taking away the position from Leclerc and handing it to Hamilton. Probably significantly contributing to the late crash. Also well done for not being able to fix the brakes on his car for two weeks plus two GP weekends.
Well worth the trust from him, another four years of this Leclerc.
Because other teams report it and then it goes for an investigation.renault rs26 wrote: ↑07 Jun 2026, 22:05Why was Russell investigated for crossing the pit lane lie if it's not penalty? Why was Perez penalized for being out of position at the restart if Russell wasn't penalized for it at the start?
I don't get this complaint about Leclerc-Hamilton? Hamilton was ahead, they had free pitstops, only reason not to pit Leclerc is if you want to overtake Hamilton. Should Ferrari really be risking Leclerc race (leaving him on old tires) in order to jump Hamilton?mzso wrote: ↑07 Jun 2026, 18:06Kudos to Ferrari for taking away the position from Leclerc and handing it to Hamilton. People don't like some drivers, like other drivers, hate some drivers, love other drivers. It's normal sports fan stuff, frankly, and this forum (like all others) has been littered with it for many years now.FittingMechanics wrote: ↑08 Jun 2026, 09:32

wasn't there a thread on f1technical where you could live out your fanboi-self? I mean I am not totally immune to it, but the fanboi jives are taking a bit overhand in recent times.Just_a_fan wrote: ↑08 Jun 2026, 10:32People don't like some drivers, like other drivers, hate some drivers, love other drivers. To be fair to Alain, he came from an era where you couldn’t beat on the car like you can modern F1 cars. Then, going just fast enough was what often allowed you to see the checkers at the end.Just_a_fan wrote: ↑08 Jun 2026, 10:30Congratulations to Kimi for joining the list of drivers who have scored a grand chelem by taking pole, the win, fastest lap and leading every lap.![]()
He's only the 28th driver to do so - something that the great Alain Prost never did, interestingly. There are more world champions than there are grand slam winners.![]()
Prost was, I think, always a "only go as fast you have to" type of driver. In the same era (including once in the same car), Senna took 4 grand slams don't forget.Hoffman900 wrote: ↑08 Jun 2026, 13:26To be fair to Alain, he came from an era where you couldn’t beat on the car like you can modern F1 cars. Very good to point it out. I feel like Antonelli's performance is overlooked a bit due to all the bizarre incidents and the "Mercedes is a rocket" assumptions. No doubt the Mercedes is the fastest car but Antonelli was very fast without any mistakes. I found it very impressive, especially considering his age and experience.Just_a_fan wrote: ↑08 Jun 2026, 14:35Prost was, I think, always a "only go as fast you have to" type of driver. Heck, a few years earlier, Stewart took 4. Clark took the current-record 8 in the 1960s and the cars were arguably as fragile as they've ever been.
Plenty of champions didn't get grand slams. Button and Kimi R being recent drivers who never did. It's not casting shade on Prost that he didn't, just pointing out that Kimi A's grand slam is special - arguably more so than simply winning at Monaco which someone does every year.
The thing with the experience though, a 19yo today has more race starts in their lifetime than Prost probably had in his whole career. Antonelli is also in an era where they have meetings, instant feedback, and are coached throughout the whole race. I’m a fan of his, the kid has talent out the ass and he still has to execute, but it’s just apples to oranges. If you took away the pit wall coaching, guys like Lewis, Alonso, etc all becoming more valuable and it’s why drivers were in their mid to late 20s before getting to F1 previously.Gillian wrote: ↑08 Jun 2026, 14:55Very good to point it out.
