i don't think anyone is blaming the drivers

No sense blaming charlie as well.. they are responsible.. If he OKs the qualifying and someone has a maldonado/grojean 2012 moment..and someone gets injured... People will then want charlie's head..

This was bound to happen delaying Q1 by 20 mins then after Q1 delaying Q2 by 40 mins and thet too the Aussie GP starts late ,wasn't it obvious that it would be dark ;drivers always complained of low visibility even in the twilight condition (Also I think Gutierriz complained of poor light in FP2 itself) . Why could the FIA just pre-pone the qualy and race timings by an hour in Melbourne because even in 2010 race one could hardly follow the race in the last 20 laps due to poor lighting .

Its a GLOBAL sport so why be so naïve to suit the European timings

I could be wrong, but whenever qualifying is held on race morning, the Pole man wins the race and the title. To memory, that's Suzuka in 2001 (Schumacher) and Vettel. Just a nice little statistical anecdote, if you like hat sort of thing.

Bernie ecclestone wanted sprinklers to liven up the racing and now we get this. One extreme to the other. FIA is putting fans off the sport.

May be from next season onwards there won't be Wet or Inter tyres because the FIA will be scared of Driver's getting Electrocuted by the bigger and powerful Battery packs of the newer powertrain in the wet conditions so no wet running itself :x .

Huh?

Btw I forgot to write Vettel in 2010 (Suzuka as well) - I don't think it's happened other than those two times, but maybe some anorak can correct me?

I dont remember 2008 but do remember 2010 ... You need to consider the time of occurence. it nearly 7PM as of Q2 in melbourne.. when the expected time of sunset is 7:20-7:30 (as told on tv)..

Fast cars.. Rain.. water logged circuit.. fading light and some maniacal drivers.. Isn't that a good receipe for a disaster..
I would however sympathise for people who stood in the rain, waiting for the cars to be out.. .. I was one a few years ago .. Melbourne 2005 IIRC..
I would rather see them going full speed tommorow..than see them just chug along in low light today.

Yes, but they wait 40 minutes for a rain who didn't came. I know at the end it was too dark for the driver, but they didn't have to wait for 40 MINUTES, for NOTHING.

Charlie Whiting have to go, he is killing this sport.

It's was far worse and these races were great.

I woke up at 6AM to watch Q1 and wait 40 minutes in front of my screen to watch NOTHING, and it's not the first time. Give them more inter and wet tyres, moosson tyres and let them go.

Not sure I agree with this.. I can speak for myself.. the info I get is either from TV or the internet.. So cant really explain the delay of 40 min as you put it... In all the time spent waiting I could see the medical car going around multiple times.. stranded cars being removed from the track.. So they must have had a reason for the delay..

Far worse or not .. I wouldn't know without physically being there..Also cannot compare track drying capabilites of various crcuits..
F1 also should have something like nascar is trying to get ready for the 2013 season..
