I think that's the case - if you look at the RBR image you posted, you can see that the hose clamp (red ring) on the plenum is very close to the outlet of the intercooler.
Which one? I dont see the outlet

It's an empty space left between the splitter, an extention of the splitter and the bargeboard

I believe that he was thinking about the darker area which is some 20/30cm from the splitter, following the line of the step in the floor
